Some 14 years ago a meeting in Bangladesh between Dr. Robert Hodgson, a civil engineer from Tiverton in Devon, and Peter Roy, an administrator for World Vision in the Faridpur district of Bangladesh, was the starting point for the group, the Tiverton Sundarban Support Group. Peter Roy came from a small village in Northern Bangladesh called Sundarban - hence our name - and he asked Robert if he could support some basic development activities in Sundarban. Robert asked friends in Tiverton if they would help, the answer was “Yes” - the Tiverton Sundarban Support Group was established and we are still working!. We would like to think that over the years we have achieved a great deal but there is still much more to be done. This site tries to show you our work in action.
