A Sundarban scene

The Tiverton Sundarban Support group were helped in setting up its health programme by LAMB hospital. The hospital provided initial and on going training for the health workers and acted as an advisory support as the health programme got underway. Now the health workers use it as an additional place of support  when needed.

The Exeter University based Housing and Hazards group has had links with  Sundarban and CFC and has run a number of  field work activities in the area - in particular the methods of  using mud for producing bricks or forming walls but by adding cement to the mud  first the end product is far stronger, more water proof and longer lasting. CFC as adopted this method in the re-building of some of its pre-schools.

The picture right shows yet one other link - TSSG is just one of a number of groups in Devon which has established links with places overseas. Devon Aid encourages and supports such links.
