We need to raise just over £5,000.00 per year to run the activities in Sundarban, not much when you consider all that is done.
The money is raised by:
1. Regular donors - many of whom Gift Aid their donations.
2. Banquet evenings at “The Gate of India” restaurant - with the kind support of Mr Chand Ali.
3. A street collection, once a year,good for publicity.
4. Occasional donations from local schools, churches and organisations.
Through these we raise almost all funds for the present budget
We have recently had two sponsored events: a five mile swim by a Tiverton student - raising over £750.00; the Southwest Run, a half marathon, by a young Exeter mum raising over £850.00. Such events give a boost to funds and enable us to consider project developments.
CFC also contributes to running costs. They have initiated several income generating projects and the profits are used for CFC activities. The most recent project is a poultry project started with a small donation from TSSG.
The long term hope is that CFC will raise enough income to be self-financing!
